Anyone wishing to obtain a category A or sub-category A1 driving licence must complete twelve hours of basic practical training within four months of being issued the learner’s licence. This must be completed at the latest when registering for the practical test. A one-off extension of the learner’s licence by 12 months is automatic once the basic training course has been completed.
Category A1 and A limited:
- The basic practical training for obtaining a driving licence lasts twelve hours (see learner’s licence) (PGS modules 1+2 and PGS module 3).
- If the applicant for a category A driving licence has a restricted sub-category A1 licence, which they obtained before 31 December 2020 (without the “max 45 km/h” restriction), the basic training only takes four hours (see learner’s licence) (PGS module 3 for 125cc and above).
- If you ride a motorbike of category A1 with 50ccm or max. 45km/h, please contact us.
Next PGS courses / registration
Every course participant has the opportunity (within 24 hours of registration) to send us a copy of their learner’s licence and vehicle registration document. This allows us to check whether the correct learner’s licence is available for the corresponding motorbike. Please make sure that you register for the correct PGS Module 3. If you turn up at the basic practical training course with the wrong motorbike, you will not be able to take part in the course and the costs will not be refunded. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have in advance.
Very important: all 3 modules must be completed within 4 months with the same learner’s licence. This is a requirement of the Road Traffic Office and we cannot change it. This check is the responsibility of the course participant.
Driving level requirement: You must be able to ride your motorbike to the driving school independently.

In the event of snow on the roads or minus temperatures, the courses will be postponed. If the course is postponed, you have the option of cancelling your registration free of charge up to a specified date.
